Happy March 1st! I hope that everyone has had a great week! We have been busy learning about adding and subtracting fractions, commas, and finishing our "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing" book unit. Can you believe we are done with the 3rd nine weeks?! I am not ready to say goodbye to my sweet 15 blessings in one more nine weeks period. Report Cards will be sent home on Friday, March 8. Be on the lookout. Also, please encourage your child to finish his/her 4th grade year strong! Sometimes, students can fall into the habit of dazing out and not doing their best. Please help me promote attention, good study habits, and hard work.
This week we have also been working on our Multicultural day program. The 4th and 5th grade students will be singing a sweet song. I have sent home the words to the song with your child. Be looking for more information about the Multicultural day soon. Remember, it is Thursday, March 14.
On Friday, March 15 (the day before Spring Break!), we will have a field trip to The Hermitage, Home of Andrew Jackson. This is his birthday, so it will be very busy. I would welcome and love any parent help on this field trip. I will send an e-mail early next week to find out what parents would like to join us!
Just a reminder.... Famous Tennessean Oral Reports will be on Thursday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. in the Administrative dining Room. Please be working on presentations, research, and costumes! The oral presentations must be 3-5 minutes long!
Have a terrific week!
