Valentine's Day and Field Trip Fun!

  Happy day after Valentine's Day!  I hope that everyone had a FABULOUS Valentine's  Day and that each of you felt all the love you deserve!  I love my 15 blessings and am extremely thankful for each of them and their families!  Thank you for sharing your child with me!  EHCS is so happy and thankful for each of our families!
   Today, we had a field trip to The Sam Davis Home.  We learned about Civil War times, uses of cotton, historical items, and the hero that Sam Davis was.  Below are a few pictures, including the group picture!  Ask your student about the life lesson we learned from Sam Davis.  We discussed never betraying a friend and loyalty.
    Just a few reminders....

• NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18 in observance of President's Day.
• Re-enrollment is now open!  We are so thankful for each of our families and know the great sacrifice you give to send your child to EHCS.  I love watching my students grow through the years.  I hope that you will re-enroll soon!  The deadline for EARLY re=enrollment is March 15.
• End of the 3rd Nine Weeks is on March 1st.  Finish strong, 4th graders!
• Multicultural program on March 14.  More information coming soon!
• Field Trip to The Hermitage on March 15.  This is Andrew Jackson's birthday!
• Spring Break- March 18-22

February Fun!

   Happy Friday!!  I hope that everyone has had a fantastic week!  in 4th grade, we have been exploring fractions, learning new note-taking techniques, and discussing biographies.  I love to watch students succeed after struggling with new concepts.  They persevere and never give up!  Way to go 4th graders!
    This week, we have some exciting events happening!  They are:

• Thursday, February 14- Pastries with Parents.  This will be occurring from 7:00-8:00 a.m.  After the breakfast, we invite our parents to stay for Chapel led by Mr. Jones.  It is a fun filled and spiritually uplifting time.
• Thursday, February 14-  Valentine's Day Cards.  We are going to have a snack with our book buddies.  Later in the day, we will exchange Valentine's Day cards with each other.  Please make sure your student brings a card for EVERY student and his/her book buddy.  I will send a list home with your child.
• Friday, February 15- Field Trip to The Sam Davis Home.   I will be sending an e-mail soon to find out who would like to join us as a chaperone.  Be looking for the e-mail.
• Monday, February 18- NO SCHOOL.  We will not have school in observance of President's Day.  No Extended Care will be offered either.

Snow, Snow, Everywhere!!

   Happy Friday!! We have had an eventful week with some SNOW mixed in!!  On Tuesday, we celebrated the 100th day of school!!  100 days of getting to learn and explore with my 15 blessings!  I am so thankful for each of them!!  We did some fun activities and had a 100 day snack!  On Wednesday, we enjoyed playing in some SNOW!!  It was "Snow" much fun!!  On Thursday, we had a 2 hour delay because of the frigid temperatures!  This has definitely been a week of memories!
